There are two types of spells: strategic spells and tactical spells. Some spells, such as summons and enchantments, are sustained, in which case they cost mana each turn.

Tactical spells can only be cast on the combat map. They are cast instantly.

Buff spells[edit | edit source]

Arcane Supercharge Arcane Supercharge Tome of Summoning 5 Resource mana.png 100 50 Target friendly Magic Origin unit gains:
  • 5 Strengthened.
  • 3 Bolstered Defense.
  • 3 Bolstered Resistance.
  • Static Charge for 3 turn Turns.
Awaken Inner Radiance Awaken Inner Radiance High 1 Resource mana.png 10 10 Friendly units in a 1-hex radius become Awakened for 3 turn Turns.

If already Awakened, a unit gains Strengthened instead.

Awaken Instincts Awaken Instincts Tome of Nature's Wrath 7 Resource mana.png 150 60 All your units:
  • Heal +15 Unit stats temporary health.png Temporary Hit Points.
  • Regain all Action Points.
  • Become Berserk for 2 turn Turns.
Call of the Wild Call of the Wild Tome of Beasts 2 Resource mana.png 15 15 All friendly Animals and Cavalries gain:
  • +2 Bolstered Defense
  • +1 Strengthened
Call to Glory Call to Glory Feudal 1 Resource mana.png 10 10 Friendly units in a 1-hex radius:
  • Gain 5 Morale.png Morale.
  • Become 1 Strengthened.
Demonic Onslaught Demonic Onslaught Tome of the Chaos Lord 9 Resource mana.png 150 60 All attacking units gain Killing Momentum and Hastened for 3 turn Turns.
Exalted Champion Exalted Champion Tome of the God Emperor 9 Resource mana.png 150 60 For 3 turn Turns, makes target friendly unit:
  • Deal +100% damage.
  • Gain +5 Bolstered Defense.
  • Gain +5 Bolstered Resistance.
  • Gain +5 Status Protection.
Fury of the Horde Fury of the Horde Tome of the Horde 1 Resource mana.png 10 10 All friendly Tier I units become +1 Strengthened.
Hold the Line Hold the Line Feudal 3 Resource mana.png 30 20 Friendly units in a 1-hex radius gain Steadfast.
Inspiring Chant Inspiring Chant Tome of Zeal 2 Resource mana.png 15 15 Friendly units in a 2-hex radius:
  • Gain +10 Morale.png Morale.
  • Become 2 Strengthened if they have Zeal.
Magic Shield Magic Shield Mystic 2 Resource mana.png 5 5 Target unit gains:
  • 2 Bolstered Defense.
  • 2 Bolstered Resistance.
Mark of Invulnerability Mark of Invulnerability Tome of Warding 2 Resource mana.png 15 15 Target friendly unit:
  • Becomes Invulnerable for 1 turn Turn.
  • Has their negative status effects removed.

Cannot be used on a unit more than once per battle.

Salvation Salvation Tome of Sanctuary 6 Resource mana.png 80 40 Target friendly unit:
  • Heals all of its Hit points Hit Points as Unit stats temporary health.png Temporary Hit Points.
  • Dispels its negative status effects.
  • Gains 3 Bolstered Resistance.
Song of the Reckless Song of the Reckless Barbarian 1 Resource mana.png 15 15 For 3 turn Turns, target friendly unit gains:
  • Berserk.
  • 3 Strengthened.
Soul Overflow Soul Overflow Tome of Souls 2 Resource souls.png 15 15 Friendly units in a 1-hex radius:
  • Gain 1 Strengthened.
  • Gain +20 maximum Hit points Hit Points until the end of battle.
  • Have their negative status effects removed.
Static Shield Static Shield Tome of Warding 3 Resource mana.png 30 20 Target friendly unit gains a shield that has a base 60% chance of inflicting Stunned on attackers.

Lasts for 2 turn Turns.

Steelfury Chant Steelfury Chant Industrious 2 Resource mana.png 15 15 All friendly units lose all stacks of Bolstered Defense and Bolstered Resistance. For each stack lost they gain:
  • Strengthened
  • Fortune
Stone Skin Stone Skin Tome of Rock 2 Resource mana.png 15 15 Target unit gains Stone Skin for 3 turn Turns.
Unleash Beast Unleash Beast Tome of Vigor 6 Resource mana.png 100 50 Target Animal or Cavalry unit gains, for 3 turn Turns:
  • 5 Strengthened
  • 5 Bolstered Defense
  • Berserk.
Vision of Victory Vision of Victory Barbarian 2 Resource mana.png 30 20 Friendly units in a 1-hex radius gain 3 Fortune.

Withering Mist Withering Mist Tome of the Eternal Lord 8 Resource mana.png 100 50 Each turn, for 3 turn Turns, all enemies:

  • Have a base 90% chance of becoming Blind for 1 turn Turn.
  • Have a base 90% chance of becoming Weakened for 3 turn Turns.

  • Enemy corpses come back to life as Tier I Zombies under your control until the end of battle.
Call Forth Avatar of Chaos Call Forth Avatar of Chaos Tome of the Chaos Lord 10 Resource mana.png 150 60 Summons an avatar of your Ruler in battle. The avatar has the same abilities as your leader and spawns with full Action Points. All Fiends and Demonkin gain +10 Morale.png Morale.
Call the Titan of the Earth Tome of the Creator 9 Resource mana.png 200 80
Conjure Amplification Pylon Tome of Amplification 3 Resource mana.png 15 15 Conjures an Amplification Pylon, a stationary structure that deals damage and increases the damage of your spells by +20%.
Conjure Astral Keeper Tome of Summoning 6 Resource mana.png 45 30 Summons an Astral Keeper, a Support Unit that is especially effective in helping your other Magic Origin units.
Conjure Divine Beacon Conjure Divine Beacon Tome of the Beacon 2 Resource mana.png 30 20 Summons a Divine Beacon. Upon casting and at the start of each turn, friendly units, in a 2-hex radius:
  • Heal +5 Unit stats temporary health.png Temporary Hit Points.
  • Gain +5 Morale.png Morale.
Explosive Manifestation Explosive Manifestation Tome of Astral Convergence 7 Resource mana.png 100 50 Target non-occupied hex:
  • Summons a random Tier II Astral Sea creature.
  • All adjacent units sustain 10 Damage type fire.png Fire Damage, 10 Damage type lightning.png Lightning Damage, and 10 Damage type frost.png Frost Damage.
Raise Zombies Raise Zombies Tome of Necromancy 3 Resource souls.png 15 15 Raises target corpses in a 1-hex radius as Zombie units that die at the end of combat.
Rotting Explosion Rotting Explosion Tome of Necromancy 3 Resource mana.png 15 15 Target friendly Zombie unit explodes dealing 15 Damage type frost.png Frost Damage, 15 Damage type blight.png Blight Damage and applying Decaying with a base 90% chance to enemy units in a 2-hex radius.
Summon Astral Reflections Summon Astral Reflections Tome of the Astral Mirror 7 Resource mana.png 150 60 Summons 2 Astral Reflections of the target friendly unit onto unoccupied adjacent hexes.
Totem of the Wild Tome of Vigor 5 Resource mana.png 80 40 Spawns a Totem of the Wild, which spawns a random Tier I animal unit at the start of each of your turn Turns. Lasts 5 turn Turns.
Vine Prison Vine Prison Tome of Roots 2 Resource mana.png 30 20 Summon 5 Living Vine units randomly in a 2-hex radius which live for 3 turn Turns. These don't deal damage but have a chance to Immobilized enemies.

  • Sustains 20 Damage type lightning.png Lightning Damage.
  • This effect passes on to another enemy within 3 hexes.
  • Passes on up to 2 times.
Cosmic Ablation Cosmic Ablation Mystic 1 Resource mana.png 10 10 Target unit sustains:
  • 10 Damage type lightning.png Lightning Damage.
  • 10 Damage type fire.png Fire Damage.
  • 10 Damage type frost.png Frost Damage.
Crushing Earth Crushing Earth Tome of Terramancy 5 Resource mana.png 45 30 Target enemy unit that is Tier III or lower:
  • Has a base 60% chance of instantly dying.
  • If unit resists, it is Stunned and sustains 40 Damage type physical.png Physical Damage instead.
Devouring Void Devouring Void Tome of Oblivion 7 Resource mana.png 100 50
  • Conjures a Devouring Void in a 1-hex radius.
  • Each turn, the radius increases by 1 hex.
  • Lasts for 2 turn Turns.
Fan the Inferno Fan the Inferno Tome of Chaos Channeling 7 Resource mana.png 150 60 All enemy units:
  • Sustain 5 Damage type fire.png Fire Damage.
  • Are inflicted with Burning.
Ignite Ignite Tome of Pyromancy 1 Resource mana.png 10 10 Target enemy unit:
  • Sustains 25 Damage type fire.png Fire Damage.
  • Is inflicted with Burning.
  • The ground is set On Fire.
Immolate Immolate Tome of Pyromancy 2 Resource mana.png 30 20 Enemy units in a 1-hex radius:

Seismic Shock Seismic Shock Tome of Terramancy 5 Resource mana.png 45 30 Deals 25 Damage type physical.png Physical Damage to units in a 1-hex radius and inflicts Slowed.

This spell deals double damage to obstacles.

Soul Fire Soul Fire Tome of Souls 2 Resource souls.png 10 10 Target enemy unit sustains 10 Damage type frost.png Frost Damage and 10 Damage type fire.png Fire Damage. Adjacent enemy units are dealt 50% of the damage.
Tectonic Shatter Tectonic Shatter Tome of the Creator 9 Resource mana.png 200 80

  • All enemies have a base 60% chance of becoming Stunned.
  • All obstacles on the map have a 50% chance of being destroyed.

  • Brings all dead friendly Animals and Plants back to life with 50% of their total Hit points Hit Points.
Parting Gifts Parting Gifts Tome of Cycles 5 Resource mana.png 100 50 Until the end of battle, whenever a friendly unit dies, all other friendly units within 2 hexes heal +12 Unit stats temporary health.png Temporary Hit Points.

Warding Blessing Warding Blessing High 2 Resource mana.png 10 10 Target friendly unit:
  • Heals +20 Unit stats temporary health.png Temporary Hit Points.
  • Gains 2 Bolstered Resistance.
